Rick Taylor B.App.Sc (Optom)

Rick Taylor is the owner of Ashmore Optical and has been practicing Optometry since his registration in Queensland in 1992. He gained his qualifications at QUT, and as local decided to practice where he grew up. Rick has a wealth of experience to offer people. Being the owner Rick is committed to ensuring you get the very best in care, service and products not just from him but from his fellow Optometrists and professional staff. Over the years Rick has developed a reputation as a very thorough and accurate professional with years of exceptional customer service. A loyal following of patients will attest to his abilities and friendly nature and have enabled him and his practice to remain a valuable and long standing member of the community.

David Angus B.App.Sc (Optom)

David Angus joined the practice in 2000. Having gained his Optometry qualifications alongside Rick Taylor. David having started out in his own practice decided to branch out and practice as a locum. He experienced a variety of differing ideas and methods over his years as a locum. David having grown up as a local and someone who has also worked in many practices is an invaluable asset to Ashmore Optical. His abilities in contact lens prescriptions and fittings allows Ashmore Optical to offer the very best in permanent and disposable contact lenses. David’s friendly and personable nature makes David a perfect fit at Ashmore Optical as a full time Optometrist.

Lesley Stanich B.Sc (Optom)

Originally coming from Scotland where she qualified as an Optometrist, Lesley owned a family practice in Sydney for many years. After moving to the Gold Coast Lesley has continued practicing Optometry as a locum. Lesley has been happily practicing with us for nearly 2 years and brings with her many skills including contact lenses fitting and prescriptions as well as experience in the testing of young children. Lesley’s warm and happy nature only adds to the family vibe you get at Ashmore Optical.

Tim Cooney (Optical Dispenser)

Tim has been making and fitting your spectacles at Ashmore Optical since 2000. Tim got his Optical Dispenser qualifications in 1996 and brings a wealth of experience to Ashmore Optical. If you need anything done then Tim will attempt the majority of requests you have for spectacles, sunglasses and repairs. At Ashmore Optical Tim has access to a large range of the latest lenses available for you and can be fitted to new or old frames quickly and in most cases without you having to leave your frames.

Our expert staff at Ashmore Optical aren’t just here to serve you with great customer service and expert advice, they will make your visit and fun and friendly with a few laughs thrown in. In an independant family practice like Ashmore Optical, we strive to give a more personalised experience than that of other practices. Our staff comprising of Mary, Robyn, Cassie and Kianey are the back bone of the practice. Their customer relations are second to none and help make what Ashmore Optical is today
